The Government of Gujarat implemented the Kisan Accident Insurance Scheme on 26 January 1996 to provide insurance coverage to registered farmers in case of accidental death or permanent disability. The scheme is 100% sponsored by the state government. In this scheme, the insurance premium is paid by the state government for all farmers. The scheme is implemented under the Gujarat Community Group-Janata Accident Insurance Scheme from 01/04/08 through the Insurance Director of Gandhinagar.

The objective of the Khedut Akasamat Sahay Scheme


The main objective of the scheme is to assist the heirs of the registered farmer, all the children (son/daughter) of the registered farmer, and the spouse of the registered farmer in the event of death or disability due to an accident.

Beneficiaries of Khedut Akasamat Sahay Scheme


In case of accidental death or permanent disability, all the registered farmers, any child (son/daughter) of the farmer, and the spouse of the farmer aged 5 to 70 years are the beneficiaries of the scheme.

Key Terms: Khedut Akasamat Sahay Scheme


A person with a deceased or permanent disability must be the child of the registered farmer (personal or joint name land) or the child or spouse of the registered farmer (son or daughter) or permanent disability due to an accident. Suicide or natural death is not included in this plan.

Dead or permanently disabled persons between 5 and 70 years of age.
The application should be made to the concerned District Agricultural Officer's office within 150 days.

Revised night of farmer accident assistance scheme


As per the revised proposal of the Department of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Cooperation dated 13/11/2018, assistance to the beneficiary is given below.

In case of accidental death or permanent disability, Rs. 100% assistance. 2.00 Lakh

In case of accidental loss of two eyes / two limbs/hands and feet / one eye and one arm or leg, Rs. 100% assistance.

2.00 Lakh (100% complete vision loss in case of the eye, in case of hand - loss of upper part of the wrist, and in case of foot- completely cut off from knee)

In case of accidental loss of one eye or one limb, Rs. 50% assistance. 1.00 Lakh

Beneficiary order under the scheme in chronological order

Spouse: In his absence
Children son/daughter: in their absence
Parent Father / Mother: In his absence
Grand Son / Grand Daughter: In the absence of I, II, III
Unmarried/widowed/exiled sister who is dependent and living with the beneficiary
Any heir declared under the Heirs Act is applicable to the beneficiary involved in matters other than the above-mentioned matters and the controversial case.
