Anyone can process this online or even go to the center to get the information. An e-labor card will be issued along with the person's universal account number after registration. More than 3 lakh workers have registered on the central labor and employment portal 'e-labor' for unorganized sector workers. Union Labor and Employment Minister Rameshwar Teli said at an event here on Thursday that various camps were being organized for the registration of unorganized workers on the e-labor portal. He said the portal should be spread as much as possible.
Why did this plan come about?
The Union Minister said that creating a national database of all unorganized employees would help the government to focus on the targeted and final distribution of welfare schemes for unorganized employees. He said that the e-labor portal launched last month is a 'game changer'. So far more than 27 lakh unorganized workers have been registered and the government is cooperating with all the state governments and other stakeholders for registration of workers on the portal.

What will be the benefit of registration?
The Union Minister said that by registering on the portal, accident insurance of Rs two lakh is provided. If an employee is registered on the portal and suffers an accident, he/she will be charged Rs. 2 lahks and Rs. 1 lakh for partial disability. Regarding registration, workers will be given a universal account number, which will facilitate the portability of social security schemes, ration cards, etc.
